Welcome, Bear!!
Welcome to a fun and exciting year of Cub Scouting!! You will be going on adventures, exploring the world around you with other Bears in your den. You will play games, make fun things, learn about wildlife, and spend lots of time outdoors. Best of all, you will be earning awards while having all this fun!! Sounds exciting, doesn't it??

Summary Much of the advancement for the Bear rank is done by the scout with his den. The den leader will keep track of the scout's progress. The den leader will keep a record of completed requirements and adventures from the handbook for each individual Bear in the den. The Bear program relies heavily on family involvement, once the bear badge is earned electives can be worked on at home with your family. You will earn an adventure loop for each adventure you complete. Gooo, Bears!!!

  •  "November"

The Bears in Den #3 just had their first overnight camping Adventure at Camp Bullowa November 7th-8th. We worked on completing our Bear Necessities Requirement, A Bear Goes Fishing Elective, and part of Bear Picnic Basket Elective.
The Bears started their camping adventure by clearing away all the leaves and brush around their campsite and campfire, they then went fishing for over an hour and caught some amazing fish. After fishing we came back to our cabin to make our lunches in the foil box ovens we all made. Around 2:30pm we met up with the Webelos Den for a 3 mile hike to the Washington Lookout. It was quite a hike, a lot of uphill rocky terrain but no one was complaining, it was soooo much fun!! We collected grape vine along the way for our dream catchers craft.
Once we returned from hiking the Bears gathered kindling, brush and twigs to assemble fire starters made with the materials they gathered, dryer lint and toilet paper roll. They were then taught how to start their own fire. Once we got a good bed of coals going we assembled our foil pack dinners and cooked them on a grate and on a bed of hot coals. Dinner was delicious and so were the brownies we made in the foil box ovens. As the Bears settled in they worked on making their dream catchers that came out absolutely beautiful. They were all so proud of their achievements of the day. The following morning all the Bears and some Webelos helped prepare and serve a breakfast that consisted of Pancakes, scrambled eggs, breakfast sausages, bacon, hash browns, coffee, milk and fresh fruit. A wonderful time was had by all and so many memories created.
